Exploring Topic Trading Pairs

Traditional stock markets only list the stock symbol because it is assumed that stocks are only traded for US Dollars.

Cryptocurrency exchanges are different because they allow several combinations of digital assets to be traded one for the other.

For instance you can trade Ethereum for Bitcoin, Bitcoin for US Dollars, US Dollars for Ripple and so on. These combinations are what we know as trading pairs.

This generates a much more complex financial ecosystem than exists for traditional stock markets where equities are only traded for fiat money.

Crypto traders must get used to dealing with multiple trading pairs in order to fully understand the mechanics of cryptocurrency price movements.
