April 06, 2019 1:16 PM Mission: To work with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth. Heifer does this by providing appropriate livestock, training and related services to small-scale farmers and communities worldwide. Seventy-five years ago, Dan West began outlining a simple but groundbreaking plan to help the hungry. West, a Midwestern farmer and Church of the Brethren member, had recently returned from volunteer service in the Spanish Civil War where his job was to provide weary refugees with a single cup of milk. He knew American farmers had resources many others did not: cows and the steady supply of nutrition from their milk.

Massive Bitcoin Whale Triggered BTC Surge With $100 Million Order, Says Crypto Investment Firm CEO
April 02, 2019 11:23 AM The CEO of cryptocurrency firm BCB Group says Bitcoin?s massive pump was triggered by a single Bitcoin whale, in a coordinated effort to buy nearly $100 million worth of BTC across three crypto exchanges. Oliver von Landsberg-Sadie told Reuters a 20,000 BTC buying spree executed simultaneously on Coinbase, Kraken and Bitstamp is largely responsible for the surge, which briefly boosted the price of BTC above $5,000. ?There has been a single order that has been algorithmically-managed across these three venues, of around 20,000 BTC. If you look at the volumes on each of those three exchanges ? there were in-concert, synchronized, units of volume of around 7,000 BTC in an hour.?

The Events That Could Increase Crypto Adoption in 2019
April 02, 2019 8:07 AM The crypto industry has been through a veritable rollercoaster over the past two years. After hitting historic highs of nearly $20,000 and peak hype for the market, bitcoin?s value has since collapsed, rebounded, and stabilized. Likewise, the ICO boom, which saw billions raised for blockchain projects and contributed to the sector?s rapid expansion, has fizzled as many of the services and applications that raised capital have failed or disappeared. After a relatively weak 2018, 2019 looks to be a year of tremendous opportunity for crypto. A series of major announcements, events, and factors could converge to finish pushing crypto over the fence and into the mainstream full time. From an increase in crypto CFD trading to the introduction of financial and banking tools geared toward facilitating cryptocurrency transfers and payments, these are the events that could define the market in 2019.

April 01, 2019 5:08 PM In the first part of this series, we have looked at a conceptual overview of the Abra specification, which describes the how data flow is achieved within the Qubic Computation Model. In the second part we used the Abra specification to start implementing Qupla, a higher level programming language for Qubic. We introduced Qupla?s most basic entities (trit vectors, look-up tables, and constants) and how they map to Abra. The third part explored the way Qupla uses functions and expressions. This fourth part will show what basic operations Qupla provides. A quick recap: Qupla expressions are made up of a very limited number of basic operations. These operations can be combined in different ways to express the intent for the expression. There are only five basic operations in Qupla from the programmer?s viewpoint:
