Help! IOTA disappeared - General - IOTA Forum
January 06, 2019 11:04 PM Help! IOTA disappeared, not showing in history and balance (Light Wallet 2.4.0 - IRI 1.4.0 Between my account and my account I had 0 iota! What happened? how does it solve Already solved ! Download the new version of wallet, enter with your seed, and generate new addresses constantly. iota in 3 years more will be what today or even imagine, is just a thing to wait and wait for the time to pass! How many times did you have to generate new addresses? Thanks Serg, I did 5 and it worked! I can confirm this works! I only made an account here to bitch about the update and whine about my iota disappearing? But after creating a few few addresses it magically appeared! Thanks Forum Friends!

Make sure your wallet is synced before you log in, send coins, and create addresses - General - IOTA Forum
January 06, 2019 11:04 PM It is important for you to make sure your wallet is synced before you log in, send coins, and create addresses, especially when using light wallet which may be not always synced. You can't properly operate the wallet if it is not synced and IOTA's syncing is different from blockchain coins. Check the milestoneindex and solidsubtanglemilestoneindex in the View Node Info under Tools. If these two numbers are same and equal to the latest milestone number in #botbox on Slack, your wallet is synced. You also can simply check the Status Bar (if you have made status bar visible) on the bottom left of your wallet. If the first two numbers are same and equal to the latest milestone number in #botbox on IOTA Slack, your wallet is synced. Otherwise it is not.

Our Vision | IOTA IOTA Logo
January 06, 2019 11:04 PM The Foundation's vision for IOTA The IOTA Foundation's vision extends to many different realms which are all dependent on access to a single source of truth. Data is only as valuable as it is valid. Ensuring what is true is precisely what Distributed Ledger Technology enables. IOTA is a protocol that achieves consensus on the state of matters in a network. By having a cryptographically secure source of unified truth, we envisage a grand technological Cambrian explosion of innovation to arise from it. Our vision is to enable all connected devices through verification of truth and transactional settlements which incentivize devices to make available its properties and data in real time. This gives birth to entirely new general purpose applications and value chains.

Qubic: Quorum-based Computations - Powered by IOTA
January 06, 2019 11:04 PM In short: Qubic began life as as an initialism-turned-acronym, QBC, which stands for quorum-based computation. Quorum (distributed_computing) on wikipedia Specifically, Qubic is a protocol that specifies IOTA's solution for quorum-based computations, including such constructs as oracle machines, outsourced computations, and smart contracts. Qubic provides general-purpose, cloud- or fog-based, permissionless, multiprocessing capabilities on the Tangle. In the long term, Qubic will allow people to leverage world-wide unused computing capacity for a myriad of computational needs, all while helping to secure the IOTA Tangle: an IOTA-based world supercomputer.

Missing IOTA, Reclaim Tool
January 06, 2019 11:03 PM A week ago I discovered that all my IOTA is missing from my wallet here is the story: So now the time arrived to update the info on my quest to regain my IOTAs. First I updated my IOTA wallet, generated new addresses 130 times, also changed the nodes several times but nothing the balance still 0. Then I started to read about the snapshot(s) which happened several times in 22 of Sept. 24thof October, 28th of January and also last week. The most helpful article: https://medium.com/iota-demystified/help-my-iota-balance-is-zero-579b75f35f2c read it you can find a lot of answers there. I concluded that my IOTAs been taken into custody by the staff to protect me?nice! except if they do that wouldn?t be nicer if they notify me and everyone else affected and not just waiting us to get a heart attack when we find out that our IOTAs went missing? If you assume you are a victim of the IOTA foundations kindness and your addresses was moved to the IOTA foundation custody address you can go check it and make sure on the following link: https://gist.githubusercontent.com/cyclux/2bb05d873c4ec6115cad1d100263d489/raw/612a49e46091586957448f6606ea981ab18022e7/snapshot_validation_20171023.txt copy, control F, paste ?and I found all my missing (confiscated) IOTAs on the list! But my category was not mentioned in the article which is: curl_not_transitioned. I don?t know what to think of this category could not find any info. Anyway move on now the issue how to get them back!? To the Reclaim tool?I got ready with the old seed also with the new seed?pretty simple eventually I got ?Proof transaction is pending? and pending and pending time sometimes you prioritize and reattach and again and you have to go to work or to sleep and you have to turn off you computer but as soon is possible you start again and only two days later ?Proof transaction confirmed?. Great wrote down the address it gave me went to the new seed and receive the same address shows up and only a couple hours later confirmed?and still 0. F?ing ZERO. Went back to check the custody (confiscated) address and everything is still there unchanged! SO now what? Really WHAT??? In conclusion: IOTA aims for machine to machine communications?the future. How about to try just plain COMMUNICATIONs first like human to human or IOTA to human! If the future you about to build is unhuman, arrogant, top down like a dictatorship that?s not a good future and I don?t think that we should support it.

The IOTA Foundation | IOTA IOTA Logo
January 06, 2019 11:03 PM A new type of foundation, with the focus to develop the next generation of protocols for the connected world The IOTA Foundation was established in Germany as a formal, non-profit organisation (?gemeinnützige Stiftung?) in 2017 by Dominik Schiener and David Sønstebø. In order to drive the future economy of interconnected and autonomous devices, the IOTA Founders developed the ideas behind IOTA and the Tangle architecture on which it is based and organized a crowdsale at the end of 2015 to help fund its development. Raising a little over $500k USD worth of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and without any pre-allocation or special treatment of any kind to any of the Founders or developers, the entire token supply (which can never change) was distributed pro-rata to the crowdsale participants on the genesis transaction.

What is IOTA | IOTA IOTA Logo
January 06, 2019 11:02 PM A permissionless distributed ledger for a new economy The first open-source distributed ledger that is being built to power the future of the Internet of Things with feeless microtransactions and data integrity for machines. Anyone with a bank account is familiar with the concept of a ledger, containing records of their debits and credits. Collectively, we have all entrusted financial institutions for generations to safeguard these highly sensitive records and their accuracy. With no ability to verify the data that we receive on the Internet today, and with cybercrime on the rise, this delegated and unverifiable trust has become a major obstacle for an inclusive and permissionless economy.

IOTA and F6S team up on Ecosystem Fund IOTA
January 06, 2019 11:02 PM We launched the IOTA Ecosystem Fund in May and have received over 100 applications already. Since then the monetary size of the fund itself has grown several fold in conjunction with the growth of IOTA, which means we can expand its reach. Now we are happy to announce that we are partnering with F6S, the world?s largest platform for founders, start-ups and accelerators, to bring the IOTA Ecosystem Fund to their vast network and community with over 2 Million start-ups and developers, with particular focus on Internet-of-Things. Through this collaborative effort we expect IOTA?s ecosystem and community to grow significantly, as well as boosting adoption from start-ups and founders that can benefit greatly from exploring and implementing the new opportunities that the IOTA platform provides.
