Vertcoin Development Update March 2019
April 09, 2019 9:30 AM Over the past year or so we have seen many cryptocurrency ?teams? make quick exits after harsh market conditions and ICO scams, but not us. The team continues to volunteer our time amidst the constant negativity and trash talking. We believe our hard work with pay off again one day. Until then, we offer this update for your consideration. Over the last month, we?ve been in a back-and-forth with the developer of our GPU miners for Verthash. We think we?re close to the end, but unfortunately there are no guarantees since Verthash is an entirely new concept requiring a skill set very few have. Early testing has resulted in a few bug fixes in the Vertcoin Core release we mentioned last month, and there?s an updated testnet running between three nodes (two development team members and the miner developer) that should allow us to verify that the miner is implemented correctly. Once the miner is ready we can hardfork the testnet and get a wider audience looking at Verthash (that includes you!). We want to get this done soon, but this is an entirely new concept, so you?ll have to be a little patient. As always, we?ll keep you informed through this monthly update.

On Monday, The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) stated that it was to seek public opinion on an updated list of industries that it wants to restrict or completely abolish. The list was first published back in 2011 and has since gone through several revisions.

The developer known as Deswurstes or Mcccs has announced a new project he?s been working on over the last eight months called Blockupload. Litecoin has been making massive headway over the past few weeks
April 08, 2019 3:23 PM Litecoin has been making massive headway over the past few weeks. The cryptocurrency ? a primary competitor to bitcoin and the sixth-largest digital asset in the world by market cap ? has struck gold by beating all previous resistance levels set forth following its December 2017 mega rally. At that time, Litecoin was trading for over $400, though like most cryptocurrencies, it fell deeply in the red following the bearish conditions of 2018. Since then, it has struggled just to reach the $100 mark, though just two days ago, Litecoin did just that. After breaking $80, the currency went on to hit $87, $90 and then $100 respectively in what?s been a steady bull run that?s comparable to both bitcoin and Ethereum.

Lightning Network-Powered Bitcoin and Litecoin Exchange Sparkswap Goes Live With Public Beta
April 08, 2019 11:42 AM During bitcoin?s massive price decline in 2018, one of the bright spots of the ecosystem was the development of the Lightning Network, which is effectively a secondary payments layer for Bitcoin with faster speeds and lower fees. Although it is still early days for Lightning, there are some signs that the protocol has already overtaken altcoins in terms of the payments use case. For example, the Lightning Network is more popular than any altcoin at online retailer Bitrefill. While most of the hype around Lightning has been focused on payments and microtransactions, the network may also have tremendous utility for cryptocurrency exchanges because it allows them to be non-custodial.
