Bitcoin Has Intrinsic Value in Accordance With The First Law of Economics
April 02, 2019 4:37 PM For anything to have a price, it must meet the prerequisites of being rare, states Walras Law. According to the director at Colombo Investimentos, Eloy Rodrigo Colombo, the first law of economics is quite powerful in defining characteristics of bitcoin. While bitcoin (BTC) is seen as an investment opportunity by some, it is considered more than a cryptocurrency by many. The credit goes to its intrinsic value and revolutionary disruptive capabilities which are more promising than fiat. Eloy suggested that one thing is rare if it?s scarce, can be owned and is useful to at least one person. After explaining the criterion to be rare, Eloy suggested that things have a price only if they fall within the criterion. During the exploration of bitcoin?s intrinsic value, Eloy maintained that the value of a thing is always relative. He extended his argument to bitcoin and compared it with other things whose intrinsic value are known like metals including gold and silver, a company?s stocks, state-backed currencies and other cryptocurrencies. After comparison, he concluded that as bitcoin is scarce, useful and capable of being owned, it does have intrinsic value in accordance with the first law of economics.

Massive Bitcoin Whale Triggered BTC Surge With $100 Million Order, Says Crypto Investment Firm CEO
April 02, 2019 11:23 AM The CEO of cryptocurrency firm BCB Group says Bitcoin?s massive pump was triggered by a single Bitcoin whale, in a coordinated effort to buy nearly $100 million worth of BTC across three crypto exchanges. Oliver von Landsberg-Sadie told Reuters a 20,000 BTC buying spree executed simultaneously on Coinbase, Kraken and Bitstamp is largely responsible for the surge, which briefly boosted the price of BTC above $5,000. ?There has been a single order that has been algorithmically-managed across these three venues, of around 20,000 BTC. If you look at the volumes on each of those three exchanges ? there were in-concert, synchronized, units of volume of around 7,000 BTC in an hour.?

Bitcoin soared above $5050 , early Tuesday touches its best level since November,a sign finally out from bear market
April 02, 2019 10:42 AM Bitcoin fly more than 24% Tuesday morning to above $5,050, its best level since November 2018. staying above $5050 is a good guster, however, and the cryptocurrency was trading up about 15% near $4,888. ?It looks like April Fools? Day put the community in good mood,? said Mati Greenspan, a senior market analyst at eToro. ?The price passed the $4300 level to the upside overnight, a dramatic level that the market has been waiting for a while. At this point, stop losses triggered a chain reaction and sent the price soaring. At the moment, bitcoin is trading above the 200-day moving average and if we see the price hold above $4,300 going forward, it could be a sign that we are finally out of the bearish market.

Bitcoin Pushing Resistance As Transactions Ramp Up, Are We Set for A Break Out
April 02, 2019 12:21 AM Bitcoin has been pushing higher highs and testing the 4200 resistance again, will we see a breakout finally? Global market-cap has continued to rise again, up to $147bln today - with BTC dominance remaining at the 50% level. BTCUSD price action has been rising consistently during March and is now approaching the last high from back in February. Crypto markets are heating up in general with Alt-coins seeing frequent gains during the past weeks, today IOST is the leading gainer - with a 23% rally over the last 24 hours. Data from Blockchain.com Bitcoin transactions have spiked up to near the previous all time highs of 420k, with the current transactions at 393k per day, with the transactions per second (TPS) wavering between 3 to 4 TPS currently. Although over the past months what has become more frequent is large spikes in transactional activity, with a record spike only a few days ago hitting a high of 29 TPS. Data from Blockchain.com With the advent of more easy access to Bitcoin ATMs, Casa Node for lightning network and integration with popular apps like cash.app, it seems adoption is primed to grow during 2019. As Bitcoin scales larger and becomes more prevalent in society, we can expect to see even more spikes of new highs in transactions per second. Whilst at the same time we know the halving is coming soon in 2020, everything is setting up nicely for a very exciting time for Bitcoin believers and investors in the space!

For those that want to monitor the carnage that is small blocks
March 29, 2019 1:10 PM This page displays the number and size of the unconfirmed bitcoin transactions, also known as the transactions in the mempool. It gives a real-time view and shows how the mempool evolves over the time. The transactions are colored by the amount of fee they pay per byte. The data is generated from my full node and is updated every minute. Note that in bitcoin there is no global mempool; every node keeps its own set of unconfirmed transactions that it has seen. The mempool is also cleared when I reboot my node. The idea is based on the retired service bitcoinqueue.com. The data is separated into different fee levels given in satoshi per bytes. The lowest colored stripe is for transactions that pay the lowest fee. Higher fee transactions are stacked on top of it. Since miners prefer high fee transactions, a new block usually only removes the top 1 MB from the queue. If a colored stripe persists over several hours without getting smaller, this means that transactions paying this amount of fee are not confirmed during this time, because there are higher paying transactions that take precedence. If a stripe on the bottom chart is much bigger than on the top chart, the transactions are larger than the average.
