Vertcoin Development Update December 2018 Vertcoin Development Update December 2018
Are you ready to fork? This past month has seen a flurry of activity updating software, getting the word out, and generally preparing to fork. This will be the third time Vertcoin has demonstrated its willingness and ability to fork (though not the last) to kick off ASICs/botnets and deter future ones wondering where to best place their investments. Ensuring mining stays on readily available, multi-purpose, consumer devices is paramount to ensuring the health, immutability, and distribution of the network. We aren?t going to cover what a hard fork is. If you?re curious you can read up on the info here or here. This item was obtained by us on January 08, 2019 6:52 PM. Non-notable cryptocurrency. The best sources from the past AfDs are IB Times and BBC News. Though BBC just has it in the side bar section called "Alt coin mining". It was only because the miner they interviewed happened to like vertcoin a lot. If they interviewed someone else it could have been a different coin. A Daily Dot article was cited by some keeps but it was pointed out that it's an opinion piece republished from someone's blog. End of the 2nd AfD an article from JOSIC is cited but the site doesn't load for me and it probably wasn't a reliable source per the objector's comments. In my opinion IB Times was the only source that can be used to establish notability. Regarding Vertcoin?s price movement, we noted several interesting patterns in it throughout the last month or so. The currency fell to a monthly low on September 12th with the value of $0.615 before going on a short lived run which ended at $0.728. After a quick drop to the pre-pump values, VTC went up once again and this time recorded a monthly high of $0.744 on September 22nd. The currency dropped off afterwards, reaching $0.667 on the 26th behind some increased daily trade volume which went over $1 million for the first time in the month. VTC went on to retest $0.73 a couple more times before shifting into a slow downtrend which brought us the prices we have today. This piece was first found by us on December 24, 2018 7:53 AM. Vertcoin (VTC) is a Bitcoin-like blockchain currency with additional features such as Stealth Address technology and ASIC resistant Proof-of-work (PoW) function. The main difference between Bitcoin and Vertcoin is the latter's resistance to centralized mining and the long term promise of Vertcoin developers to keep it that way. Vertcoin has already forked two times to a new PoW function because of a veritable threat of centralized mining. The Vertcoin cryptocurrency wallet can be downloaded from Vertcoin's official website[1]. Vertcoin is an alternative version of Bitcoin using Lyra2REv2 as a proof-of-work algorithm. Payments in the Vertcoin network are made to addresses, which are based on digital signatures. They are strings of 33 numbers and letters which always begin with the letter V. Vertcion is peer-to-peer digital currency. Being a Bitcoin fork this flourishing cryptocurrency has the main features ? it is touted to be ASIC resistant, has Proof-of-Work (PoW) function and Stealth Address technology. Vertcoin creators tried to attain the true purpose of cryptocurrency in developing a financial system, which is owned by its users. Everyone can easily mine this currency ? ?the folk coin? is its second name. Could you ever just imagine you are the great ASIC machine?s owner, you, the rank-and-filer? We suppose ? never, as it is impossible as well. Although in comparison with CPUs or GPUs ASIC schemes do provide more efficiency in digital coins mining. We mean Bitcoin and Litecoin. The simplicity of Vertcoin mining is pleasantly added by secure using of network and easy transactions processes. Everyone can mine these digital coins with GPUs. We won?t dive in details here ? all you need along with PC with GPU is Vertcoin wallet (you should download it) and miner program. The NVidia 10 Series cards are currently the best GPUs for Vertcoin mining. But we still go on working at making AMD cards more profitable for using. Vertcoin Block Reward Halves, Price Picks Up Again - Cryptovest Vertcoin Block Reward Halves, Price Picks Up Again - Cryptovest
Vertcoin, a digital asset with a technology similar to Bitcoin and Litecoin, with some key changes, has undergone the scheduled halving of the block reward. After December 12, the block reward falls from 50 to 25 coins. Because VTC is a younger digital asset, its block reward is the same as that of Litecoin, and double that of Bitcoin, which has already undergone two halvings for a reward of 12.5 BTC per block. Vertcoin is still recovering from a slump after the previous attempt at vaulting $10. A week ago, the VTC price was pressured along with other altcoins and slid down from the peak. But the next few days may see VTC moving again, especially as the still niche coin uses the halving as a source of social media noise. This posting was discovered by us on December 23, 2018 3:04 PM. Vertcoin (VTC) grew to nearly $2 within hours, with no clear explanation for the price move, triggering warnings of future losses. Vertcoin (VTC) suddenly attracted attention again, as it doubled its price within hours, in what some see as a much-needed bull run, while others see as a temporary pump leading to losses. VTC reached a peak around $2.13 and later retreating toward $1.80, which is still more than 77% net growth in the past day. VTC exploded from levels of $1.03, appreciating in two large hourly bursts around 1:00 UTC and 6:00 UTC. The crypto community, which is otherwise supportive of the Vertcoin project, sees the pump as unsustainable: This share was first found by us on December 23, 2018 2:50 PM. Vertcoin is stored in special wallets that consist of private and public keys (see above). There?s a huge number of cryptocurrency wallets with different features and it?s hard to recommend one that would cover all your needs. Let?s see the major differences between various wallets. They represent the so-called cold wallets, meaning they operate offline - unless a payment needs to be made. Hardware wallets store your private keys on a storage medium, and usually connect to a computer via USB to make a payment transaction, after entering a pin. Easy to use with a high level of security. The best Vertcoin hardware wallets are Ledger Blue, Trezor Model T. This post was retrieved by us on December 23, 2018 10:08 AM. Check out www.coinario.com to find more similar content.

Vertcoin Team Updates Mining Algorithm To Brick ASIC Vertcoin Team Updates Mining Algorithm To Brick ASIC
Vertcoin team has announced that they will be doing a hard fork soon to deal with the ASIC mining machines that have taken over the network. Infact, its blockchain suffered a 51 percent attack, resulting in double spends. And this hard fork is being done to deal with those ASIC machines. Vertcoin team has introduced Lyra2REV3, an update to existing algorithm. This algorithm change is all about getting rid of ASIC miners that have been dumping VTC in exchanges from past one month. This fork will prevent them from mining using ASICs. This is an excellent solution until Verthash is out. Verthash is supposed to completely eliminate ASIC machines as it will be a totally new algorithm. This piece was obtained by us on December 06, 2018 5:45 AM. We will provide updates for any additional developments as they arise. Page 3 of Satoshi Nakamoto?s whitepaper, Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System, states the following: The ?honesty? of more than half of miners is a core requirement for the security of Bitcoin and any proof of work cryptocurrencies based on Bitcoin. Honest action, in this context, means following the behavior described in the Bitcoin white paper. This is sometimes described as a ?security risk? or ?attack vector,? but is more accurately described as a known limitation to the proof of work model. $100,000 Lost In Vertcoin Attack $100,000 Lost In Vertcoin Attack
There have been some serious attacks going on by Vertcoin which is resulting in $100k of double spending on the network. The Bitcoin-replica was launched with an aim to discourage miners from forming pools and gaining a monopoly over its network being compromised. The security expert, Mark Nesbitt has revealed that the blockchain of Vertcoin is under a 51 percent attack. The Coinbase engineer found that unknown cyber attackers rented a large volume of ASIC hash rate to infiltrate the four-year-old cryptocurrency network. In the end, they got hold of more than 50 percent of the mining hash rate which allowed them to own and govern the Vertcoin public chain literally. Vertcoin is a project with a laudable mission. It?s described as a ?decentralized peer-to-peer cryptocurrency,? which you might think already exists in the form of bitcoin and, well, just about every other cryptocurrency out there. But while bitcoin is peer-to-peer, and supports decentralization in principle, in practice the vast majority of the mining power that maintains the network is concentrated among a small group of giant mining pools. To maximize returns, these pools invest their profits into custom-built hardware?application-specific integrated circuits, or ASICs?which are optimized to do nothing other than mine bitcoin. Coinbase takes advantage of Vertcoin (VTC) 51% attack to hit its competitors Coinbase takes advantage of Vertcoin (VTC) 51% attack to hit its competitors
This is a guest post by Johter V. Seriaum On the second of December 2018, a double spend attack was performed on Vertcoin. A large amount of ASIC hashrate was rented anonymously through rental services to attack the 4 year old blockchain. Things took an interesting turn, as it looks that Coinbase publically commented on the events, while dealing a blow to its competition such as Binance and Bittrex. The Vertcoin blockchain experienced a series of successive reorganizations of the blockchain. On first sight, the attacks seem to be directed towards exchanges with the goal of stealing money, as if often the case with such attacks. However, given the relatively low volume on the Vertcoin trading pairs and the financial and legal risks that are associated with such attacks, it is highly unlikely that the attacks were initiated for financial gain.
