ER has a pipeline of real assets in excess of USD $1B targeted for these future token issuances. Best known for its tokenization of the St. Regis Resort in Aspen, which raised USD $18 million through tokenization, ER is a leader in security token issuance. While the St. Regis offering was issued on Ethereum, the team is switching to Tezos, seeing it as a superior blockchain for asset tokenization, future-proofing ER's offering and offering a greater focus on smart contract security. Tezos smart contracts with ReasonML, Docker and a sandboxed node
You?ll deploy a simple Tezos smart contract written in ReasonML, using tezos-environment-manager. You?ll call the smart contract using sotez to verify the deployment. All of this will happen in a local, private and sandboxed Tezos blockchain. Tezos is a blockchain technology, or in other words???a platform that allows you to build decentralised applications by implementing a blockchain ledger and smart contract support. You can learn more here. Tezos Environment Manager (TEM), is a toolkit for building decentralised applications and smart contracts on top of Tezos blockchain. To start a project based off TEM, you have to clone it?s source repository first: This piece was found by us on January 28, 2019 4:12 AM. See medium.com for complete listings from this source.

AirGap just announced the Tezos (Beta) release for iOS and Android
With AirGap we decided a secure but accessible approach to security for various crypto assets is of utmost importance. We?ve always had an eye on Tezos, especially with the Foundation?s roots in our home country, Switzerland. Being supported by the Tezos Foundation with a grant, made it possible for us to bring our vision for AirGap to the Tezos ecosystem. For a successful AirGap transaction AirGap Vault and AirGap Wallet are needed. There are two possible ways to use the AirGap wallet system. The most secure approach ist to generate a new secret on an offline de with AirGap Vault. Secure storage and signing happen completely offline, the communication with the online counterpart, AirGap Wallet is done with QR codes. Tezos Overview (Bitrates)
A summary of the Tezos system, its innovative contributions to governance, and its approach to smart contract scripting and formal verifications. Tezos is one of the more innovative and intriguing blockchain-based projects in the cryptosphere. It was originally founded in 2014 by Arthur and Kathleen Breitman with papers describing the specification and a basic functioning prototype. Central to Tezos is its approach to on-chain stakeholder governance and formal procedures for reaching social consensus about the state of its own protocol. It is, in that regard, a blockchain protocol that is not set in stone but designed to continuously evolve, upgrade, and amend itself. This article was first seen by us on January 26, 2019 5:03 AM. A guide on how to set up a development environment, including a localhost instance of a Tezos network and Emacs with the Michelson mode.
I tried the online editor of Liquidity to program my first Tezos smart contracts, which is really nice to get familiar with smart contract programming on Tezos. To move the efficiency of the smart contracts of Tezsure to a higher level I wanted to program our contracts in Michelson, unfortunately I couldn?t find a complete setup guide on how to set up a development environment, including a localhost instance of a Tezos network and Emacs with the Michelson mode. I was personally having trouble with setting this up, so to help any Tezos enthusiasts out there I wanted to write this blogpost. Note: this is my way of setting up the developer environment, there are probably a lot of ways to this. I combined parts of the Zastrin course, the Tezos documentation, the tutorial of Kate Sills and my own trial and error. This information was first seen by us on January 25, 2019 6:09 PM. Improving Tezos Storage
Running a Tezos node currently costs a lot of disk space, about 59 GB for the context database, the place where the node stores the states corresponding to every block in the blockchain, since the first one. Of course, this is going to decrease once pruning is integrated, i.e. removing very old information, that is not used and cannot change anymore. Anyway, some people might still want to keep a full history of the blockchain, and the current rate of growth makes it difficult. As one part of our activity at OCamlPro is to allow companies to deploy their own private Tezos networks, we decided to experiment with new storage layouts. We implemented two branches: our branch IronTez1 is based on a full LMDB database, as Tezos currently, but with optimized storage representation ; our branch IronTez2 is based on a mixed database, with both LMDB and file storage. Dispatches from the Internet frontier. Microsoft is officially giving up on an independent shared platform for the internet. By adopting Chromium, Microsoft hands over control of even more of online life to Google. This may sound melodramatic, but it?s not. The ?browser engines? ? Chromium from Google and Gecko Quantum from Mozilla ? are ?inside baseball? pieces of software that actually determine a great deal of what each of us can do online. They determine core capabilities such as which content we as consumers can see, how secure we are when we watch content, and how much control we have over what websites and services can do to us. Microsoft?s decision gives Google more ability to single-handedly decide what possibilities are available to each one of us. This piece was discovered by us on January 15, 2019 3:40 AM. In the long run tezos will win...
It was just 5 years ago that there was an ample dose of skepticism from investors about the viability of open source as a business model. The common thesis was that Redhat was a snowflake and that no other open source company would be significant in the software universe. Fast forward to today and we?ve witnessed the growing excitement in the space: Redhat is being acquired by IBM for $32 billion (3x times its market cap from 2014); Mulesoft was acquired after going public for $6.5 billion; MongoDB is now worth north of $4 billion; Elastic?s IPO now values the company at $6 billion; and, through the merger of Cloudera and Hortonworks, a new company with a market cap north of $4 billion will emerge. In addition, there?s a growing cohort of impressive OSS companies working their way through the growth stages of their evolution: Confluent, HashiCorp, DataBricks, Kong, Cockroach Labs and many others. Given the relative multiples that Wall Street and private investors are assigning to these open source companies, it seems pretty clear that something special is happening. Why Tezsure is built on Tezos Tezsure Medium
We started to closely follow the development of Tezos from the moment the white paper was released in September 2014. Making the decision to develop on Tezos was one of the first we made at Tezsure (and one that happened before we agreed on our name). We quickly realized that we could help with the adoption of the Tezos network. With Tezsure, we want to actively contribute to the growth of the Tezos community, increase user adoption, and help with the development of tools to make the life of a developer creating smart contracts on Tezos easier. Tezos is a platform for secure smart contracts and decentralized applications. There are several important features that differentiate Tezos from other smart contracting platforms???namely on-chain governance, self-amendment, a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus algorithm, and formal verification. Kiln v0.3.0: Introducing Baker and Tezos Release Monitoring
Version 0.3.0 of Kiln is now available! Kiln already monitors Tezos nodes and sends alerts when they run into an issue. This version introduces two additional layers: baker monitoring and Tezos release monitoring! Kiln can now be used to monitor bakers! It provides: Simply provide the public key hash (PKH) of your baker and Kiln will begin monitoring it in the dashboard. Kiln does this without relying on a centralized service or data source???it only uses your nodes, keeping the Tezos network as decentralized as possible. Tezos Release Monitoring: Know when Tezos is updated Kiln now also tells you if an update has been pushed to Tezos! Staying up to date with the latest version of Tezos is highly recommended. With this notification in place, bakers can feel confident they have not missed any updates and are running the latest version of Tezos. This data was discovered by us on January 11, 2019 11:46 PM. After Extended Delays, the Opinion-Dividing Tezos Launches Its Betanet - Toshi Times
The controversial Tezos project has finally launched its betanet, following months of protracted delays due to internal issues coupled with legal and regulatory problems. Just before the launch, the project founders explained that while the network is functional, it is still experimental in nature, thus its users should not be surprised by probable downtime periods or even emergency hard forks. A further caution was also issued, warning that Tezos cannot help its users if their XTZ tokens are lost or stolen. Tezos is a smart contract platform that raised $232 million in its ICO a year ago, which was a record-breaking sum back then. Despite the fact that it has long been surpassed by such prominent projects as EOS or Telegram, it still represents a huge investor confidence in the project. Only time will tell if it manages to shake off the recent controversies that have hampered the project. This article was obtained by us on January 06, 2019 6:27 PM. Why Tezos matters in a sea of blockchains Tezos Insider
In this era of cryptocurrencies, it can get quite confusing to identify the differences between the thousands of different digital assets now listed on websites such as CoinMarketCap. One can understandably ask himself ?Why Tezos even matters?? In this short introductory article, I will answer this simple question by presenting the three main aspects which make Tezos differ from the other types of cryptographic ledgers. They are its unique governance mechanism, its reliance on a proof of stake consensus algorithm and its focus on formal verification. This is what makes me think Tezos matters, for the investor, the trader or simply the curious individual. This information was first found by us on December 27, 2018 11:27 PM.
