As part of the Who’s Who section of Crypto.BI, today we present the profile of one of the most influential software developers in the cryptocurrency field, being co-responsible for the development of the Ethereum ecosystem. Vitalik Buterin was born in Russia in 1994 and moved to Canada when he was six. Since early in his education it became obvious he was gifted for exact sciences, displaying talent with large numbers and being an overachiever in math and other sciences.
Vitalik’s dad is a computer scientist and introduced him to cryptocurrencies, showing him Bitcoin. At age 17 he started Bitcoin Magazine with other partners and became a technical writer. During his time as writer he worked on Ethereum in parallel and in 2013 he had already published a paper about his invention. In 2014 he released Ethereum and the rest is history: today ETH is the 2nd most valuable cryptocurrency according to CoinMarketCap.
Vitalik is very active on Twitter and usually responds to messages sent by fans, technicians, cipherpunks, science-minded folks. Normally his replies are polite both in response to criticism and praises. His outspoken style has earned him a few controversies which, with time, have been overshadowed by his immense contribution to the world of cryptocurrency.
