Cardano (ADA) Publishes Long-awaited Proof of Stake Paper
IOHK has finally published the long-awaited paper outlining the formal structure for proof-of-stake sidechains via a rigorous cryptographic definition. The paper outlines sidechain constructions compatible with Ouroboros and related PoS systems. Cardano?s Sebastian Guillemot tweeted on December 31, 2018, to say a team of IOHK researchers had published the proof of stake paper titled the ?Proof-of-Stake Sidechains.? The team, according to the paper, comprised of Peter Ga?i, Aggelos Kiayias, and Dionysis Zindros. The research initially offers a formalization of the construction for PoS blockchains like Cardano?s Ouroboros before stretching to renditions like Ouroboros Praos, Ouroboros Genesis, Snow White, and Algorand later.

Altcoins Daily Preview: TRX Bulls Aim at 2
Last year, ADA prices did sink, printing new lows but then the team behind Cardano were unfazed and on a development overdrive, crashing milestones. No doubt, The Cardano Foundation, Emurgo and IOHK are working overtime and not just rehashing stuff. They are perhaps the only team working in detail, doing research and looking forward to employ formal methods in a system that will one day?at Voltaire, process billions if not trillions of transactions. Read: Jimmy Song: There?s Daylight Between Bitcoin (BTC) And Crypto Assets Now, days after announcing the release of Cardano 1.4 update, a necessary upgrade that will see enhanced performance, efficiency and hard drive space saving, the team followed it up with the release of the official proof of stake white paper. This paper, according to Sebastian Guillemot?who is the R&D Engineering lead at Emurgo, is ?fundamental to having sidechains on PoS systems and is the first rigorous definition of sidechains in PoS?.

Cardano Celebrates New Year With Newly-Published Proof-of-Stake Paper, Trezor Wallet Support
Popular hardware wallet Trezor now supports the Cardano (ADA) token, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson revealed in a video on December 30, 2018.  The announcement was accompanied by several others, including an advanced user mode and general improvements to the Cardano reference wallet. Trezor support has been one of the Cardano community?s most desired features, and the milestone has been received with enthusiasm. Trezor support for the ADA token was first announced in October. Ledger wallet support is also expected, likely this quarter ? in the next month or 2, said Hoskinson, as implementation for the 2 hardware wallets is not very different.

Cardano (ADA) now relies less on the IOHK: A sign of growing project strength Crypto Recorder
Just before the new year, Emurgo made an announcement with regards to the successful Trezor integration. It?s a big move considering that hardware wallet integration is part of what the community has been asking for, for the better part of 2018. But what stands out about this integration is that, it was done without the involvement of the IOHK. This is a big deal because it signals to Cardano (ADA)?s reduced reliance on the input of the IOHK for it to make moves. So, why is this important? Well, the most impotant reason is that, it points to Cardano?s guaranteed continuity even after the IOHK contract comes to an end.  The IOHK contract is set to come to an end in 2020. Without the ability to propagate itself forward after the IOHK contract, the Cardano project would fail. Therefore, this move makes it a safe long-term hold. It also instills confidence in the IOHK team for their ability to build a project that is not only perfect, but can also run perfectly without their direct input. There are so many projects that are heavily reliant on their founding organizations that if those teams were to fail, the projects themselves would fail miserably.

Cardano Releases Whitepaper on PoS Algorithm -- Can the Bulls Break Out of the Narrow Trading Range and Head Toward $0
Cardano capped off 2018 with their latest update, version 1.4, which has been said to be the most significant update to the Cardano ecosystem. The version 1.4 update provides considerable performance and functionality improvements to the Cardano blockchain. It also allows users to store data in a more efficient manner, thereby saving hard drive space. Following that update, the Cardano team released their official Proof-of-Stake whitepaper on December 23, 2018. The whitepaper goes over the Proof-of-Stake algorithm and provides an in-depth review which proves its concept in an academic manner, something which has never been done before. With the launch of this whitepaper, the PoS algorithm now has a provable construct which developers can now reference.

Cardano has Shot Off the Fireworks: Published the Proof of Stake (PoS) Paper
IOHK published the Proof of Proof of Stake (PoS) paper. The paper is fundamental to having sidechains on PoS systems and is the first rigorous definition of sidechains in PoS. This development might have a huge impact on Cardano and cryptocurrencies in general. Sebastien Guillemot, who is Ex-Microsoft. R&D Engineering Lead for EMURGO and is also contributing to Cardano, expressed: ?What a way to end the year!!!? and the community fully supported him by saying: ?Yes, Cardano has shot off the first fireworks of 2019 ahead of any New Year celebrations to occur around the globe!!!? The statement says, that Sidechains have long been heralded as the key enabler of blockchain scalability and interoperability. However, no modeling of the concept or a provably secure construction has so far been attempted.

From Bitcoin?s status as digital gold to new adoption for XRP, here?s a look at some of the stories breaking in the world of crypto. Crypto venture capitalist Lou Kerner says Bitcoin is well on its way to becoming the new gold. In an interview with Bloomberg, the founding partner of New York-based CryptoOracle says Bitcoin?s market cap has already surpassed silver, and he believes cryptocurrency will ultimately be a bigger game changer than the internet. ?What it?s evolved into today is a store of value. And today, the main store of value is gold. It?s an $8 trillion thing. Cardano (ADA) & Basic Attention token (BAT) Practical investments for long-term thinkers Crypto Recorder
There are two types of crypto investors namely: Short term traders, and long-term Hodlers. The difference between them is that the short-term trader doesn?t need to focus so much on the fundamentals. The goal at any one point to read sentiment, in order to determine market direction. As long as sentiment is right, a trader can invest in any cryptocurrency, and make good money off it. However, for someone looking to invest in cryptocurrencies for the long haul, fundamentals do matter. HODLing a fundamentally weak crypto can lead to huge capital loss, if that crypto doesn?t gain in value in the long-run.  By taking a fundamentals approach to the market, Basic Attention token (BAT) and Cardano (ADA) come off as some of the best cryptos for long-term investors. Here?s why.

Cardano (ADA) Price Could Resume Uptrend Above $0
Cardano price is placed nicely in an uptrend against the US Dollar and Bitcoin. ADA may continue to move higher towards $0.0450, $0.0500 and $0.0520. This past week, there was a solid bullish wave above the $0.0400 resistance in cardano price against the US Dollar. The ADA/USD pair broke the $0.0450 resistance and settled above the 55 simple moving average (4-hours). The price traded close to the $0.0500 resistance, where sellers emerged. A high was formed at $0.0494 before the price started a downside correction. It moved below the $0.0450 support and the 50% Fibonacci retracement level of the last wave from the $0.0270 low to $0.0494 high. However, the declined was protected by the $0.0360 support and the price bounced back. Besides, there was a test of the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level of the last wave from the $0.0270 low to $0.0494 high. More importantly, there is a significant bullish trend line in place with support at $0.0385 on the 4-hour chart. The price is currently trading nicely above the $0.0380 support and the trend line. On the upside, a break above the $0.0450 resistance may clear the path for more gains. The next main hurdle for buyers is near the $0.0500 level.

2019 is Looking Bright for Cardano
Let?s be honest, Cardano has immense potential and one of the most impressive teams in a long lineup of cryptocurrencies. It?s true, the project has multiple experienced dev teams and with someone like Charles Hoskinson at the helm, there?s every reason to keep faith in spite of such a turbulent year. But what results or actual product have we seen from Cardano? The truth is, this was my one major concern about the project and something that went unanswered throughout the year. As you know, Hoskinson outlined an impressive blueprint for the project but for all the best laid plans, there was still no tangible news as we neared the final quarter of the year.

Cardano Shelley Update Expected in Q1 2019
The CEO and co-founder of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson, recently confirmed that the Shelley update should be expected before the end of the first quarter in 2019. There?s still potential that the release could come by the end of this year. Hoskinson said that 90% of the work is completed for the Shelley release. The build is ready from a design perspective. However, implementation still needs some work. Cardano also has some work to do with its staking pools and needs to ensure that there is plenty of time allowed for testing. The goal for the project is to get Shelley to a point where a flip of the switch will get everything up an running. Hoskinson has repeatedly pointed to the end of Q1 in 2019 as the ultimate target.

Cardano (ADA) Charles hints at something big coming up: Time to stock up on ADA Crypto Recorder
A few hours ago, Charles Hoskinson tweeted that, there is some good Cardano news coming soon. This has got the Cardano community excited. Most people on online forums are speculating that it could either be about Shelley, Ledger integration or a listing on Coinbase. Whatever it is, the community expects this to be a big deal. That?s because, Charles, and the Cardano team in general are not in the habit of making announcements about announcements, especially when they are meaningless announcements. In fact, most Cardano announcements and AMAs come off as too technical and academic for most people to understand. Their goal so far has been to get the technical aspects of the project right, and not to pump the price through hype.
